IMAS Taroona Pump Station

Yet another high-quality pump station was commissioned recently by Netco when IMAS required an upgrade to their seawater intake pump station at an experimental facility in Taroona.

The new pump station is comprised of 3 x cast resin Corro pumps which are an ideal solution to the issues present in seawater pumping applications. These pumps are close-coupled to 55kW electric motors and draw water from a point some 400 metres offshore in the Derwent River. They are sized to a duty of 45 litres per second at 38 metres head per pump.

Netco completed the entire pump station installation including pumps, bases, manifolds, valves, flowmeter and priming system. All flanges and bolts were specified in SAF 2507 super duplex material and the valves were manufactured by Ebro, with a seawater compatible coating known as UMPHE.
