Andrew Street Sewage Pump Station

The Andrew Street Pump Station in Hobart’s northern suburbs was another sewage pump station project undertaken by Netco Pumps. This station was on the larger side, at 4 metres diameter and 8 metres deep, the challenging part was the 8-metre deep excavation in very hard bluestone which made life interesting for the civil contractor.

As part of future-proofing, the station against some upcoming changes in the next 10 years Netco custom fitted the 22kw submersible pumps to some large wet well pedestals that were installed to suit much larger 90 kW pumps.

Other features of this station were a biological odour filter bed, large offline storage tanks and an automatic tank washdown system.
